Resuscitation for Dental Sedation Teams (RDST)
The Resuscitation for Dental Sedation Teams (RDST) meets the resuscitation requirements set out in point 14 page 25 of the sedation practice standard, March 30, 2026.
This course is designed to be presented at the practice and can involve all members working at the facility.
Non clinical staff members can join on this course as they may be assisting in the emergency under the guidance of the sedating dentist.

• Sedating Dentists and their team members/assistants |
Course Topics
• DRSABCD approach to patient management • Adult Collapse • Childhood Collapse • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation • IV drugs (only if requested) • Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) • Recovery position • Management of choking • Adjuncts for Airway Management – Oro-pharyngeal and Supraglottic airways • One person & two person CPR • Bag valve mask use • Oxygen use in resuscitation • Management of Anaphylaxis • Other medical emergencies as per ANZCOR guidelines • 3 x Sedation related Scenarios |
